About Us SOVA Collection

History of SOVA Collection

Going on holiday to Jamaica 2006, we wanted holiday clothes and struggled because there was just nothing suitable for me, being tall and slightly bulging at the waist, for my daughter who just can’t keep still, requires flexibility in her clothing and finally my wife who has a classical taste in style even with casual clothes.

My wife who didn’t pick up her scissors and tape measure for over year, decided enough was enough running around in circles looking for clothes that just didn’t cut it, decided to do it herself.

Searching for haberdasheries was very difficult, finding a fabric store was even worse, but with perseverance we managed to find all that was needed.

The only item that was missing was an industrial sewing machine, for which again I searched all over the place for one, as the dominance of domestic sewing machines was so much that trying to find an industrial sewing machine was almost an impossible task, but again we toiled until we got success.

Well we went to Jamaica, Ocho Rios, and we wore those clothes with such ease and comfort in the searing heat. The style and the material fitted the environment of the clear blue sea and the almost bleached sand for which our daughter merrily jumped climbed and played on the beach everyday.

After the holiday, we decided that such was the enjoyment of our holiday and the feeling of ease and comfort of wearing our clothes in the steamy hot atmosphere of Jamaica, we decided to carry the feeling of confidence and satisfaction of wearing clothes and showing off a style that no one had into a business fronted by her family name SOVA.

Co owner Jana is the designer and myself Co owner Kevin.
We decided that if we are to make this business work our vision which is to “create a boutique that revolutionised the sixties”, with no restraints of the dominant high street stores.

To develop and evolve our own style of designs to excite and encourage people to shake the shackles of age and wear what makes you feel good about yourself, to be that individual, people look and wonder where did you get your dress from, I’ve not seen it in any high street store?

Yes that’s right you’ll only find that style of distinction at SOVA collection. When I shop for something I expect to get full attention and when I decide to buy, I want to be listened too when I have an issue and for my problems to be resolved to make me feel like making a purchase.

Quality should not been compromised, there’s nothing worse than getting home to find that the item you chose, tried on is damaged.

I want to transpose the experience and standards I expect my self when I shop at a store to be treated as an important paying customer, my purchase is as I expect it to be and in pristine condition, packed well and if there are any issues, I expect that the person on the other end of the phone will treat me well and resolve my issue as quickly as possible, with no restrictions and no bad attitude.

I want to feel that I have a friend at hand if there are any issues at the end of the phone, to listen to me and to resolve the issue with no fuss.

It’s important to have these steps at every point of a buying experience.

We have a breakthrough becoming a member of a Fashion portal called Fashion Capital. They help aspiring designers with resources and advice in the fashion industry.

This is where we were given the opportunity to showcase our fashion line at the London ExCel, billed as UK’s biggest fashion event of 2009, The London Clothes show.

From 29 - 31 May 2009 ExCeL, London was transformed into a fashion and beauty haven hosting an outstanding selection of high street, designer and boutique brands as well as a unique selection of hair and beautx products to preen visitors in their thousands.

This is just what London has been waiting 20 years for the largest fashion and beauty event is coming to the capital!

This was an opportunity to acid test our products and to collect valuable data from the public. As it was we collected good feedback along with constructive criticism, for which we have learned a great deal.

The biggest trait we have learned is to listen to people and their sensitive requirements and to implement them into our style of delivery fashion design.

In fact inspiration has been the innovative drive that has given our company the know how in producing garments that will suit most people because we want to give people a sense of individualism to look and feel different in a positive way.

Our philosophy is grounded by the wants and requirements of people that demand creativity and sense of seeing something different, the arms in a top made a little longer, the length of a skirt covering the knees, the neckline open and not closed. These are thoughts of people that help us focus and shape new creations.

We value feedback because it’s the yardstick that we need to constantly keep us in line with people’s requirements and to strive to raise the quality that is expected for everyone to feel when they dress in our garments.

But most of all listening is the best tool to use when it comes to diversity. So often parents at school, how they would like their children to have a variety in the style of clothes wear, colours and flexibility always mentioned.

Plus size women are beautiful in personality and graceful in honesty. We want to reflect that trait with clothing designs that exemplify their bright demeanour.

Our garments are manufactured in the UK and last at least for 2 seasons. Value for money is important, especially these days, quality, longevity and comfort are the underline features we expect to give people to enjoy when create and make our fashion line.

3 Tips on Choosing the Right Perfume for You

With thousands of fragrances on the market can sometimes be difficult to choose one that is perfect for your taste, personality, opportunities, and other factors. Look at the following basic tips that you may find useful in choosing, even wearing the perfect perfume for you.

1st Determine your budget.

Perfumes are priced very large range from inexpensive to luxury designer brand Cologne. Determine its budget, or the money you are willing to spend in advance will help to narrow it down and save you a lot of time.

2nd Know what you want, especially smell and go for it.

Decide on what type of fragrance you want on the basis of what perfume is to apply for you. For example, for a special occasion? It is a please or seduce a lover? It's for everyday washing and wear? If you plan to someone please make sure that research on a special scent he likes. If you want to breath every day you can wear to work or school, you may want to buy a lighter, fresher scent. If it's for large parties and festive events, select the perfume, which is stronger impact blending well with your body chemistry.

Other factors such as weather or season are also important to consider. For example, if you live in a very humid environment, floral aroma with a woody and musky base often supplemented humid weather. If you are often surrounded by a lot of people in the immediate vicinity, do not choose a very strong perfume, because not everyone likes perfume. Citrus, sea breeze and other herbs and floral fragrances are often fresh and rejuvenating, ideal for someone on the road. If you are on a date and want to increase the romance, choose a scent that is a bit stronger, but not overbearing. Usually oriental spices project confidence and sophistication. Meanwhile, aromatic compounds are ideal for men who like to smell like a real person with a negative masculinity and safety.

3rd Carefully consider before purchasing.

When you have finally narrowed down your choices and you're ready to go to the store perfume, remember to carefully examine every perfume you fancy before getting ahead and purchase. Take note that your nose can handle so much and then for 20 perfume proves to be futile. Before you start spraying perfume on the wrist, first spray the card or paper and decide if you like. If not, go to the next. Once you find a scent you think it is ideal to start testing it on your body. Apply a small amount of the wrist or the back of the arm. Sometimes salesgirl offered to use some of your skin and you feel. This is a no-no, because each of us reacts to the perfume in different ways. Make sure that the perfume is for you that firsthand. Wait a few minutes, because the smell started to grow on you and smell different after a while.

Women’s Handbags - Handbags That Flatter Your Body Shape and Size

Handbags, next to diamonds and maybe shoes, are a woman’s best friend. Not only are they used to hold everything that we hold dear, from our cellular phones to our credit cards, our palm pilots to the papers that will spell the difference between promotion and demotion. Let’s face it, can you imagine a world without the women’s handbag as we know it?

Today, women handbags are not only “receptacles” of your prized possessions but also fashion statements. Handbags are often used to express moods, individuality, style and status. And even though, it is not really worn so close to the body like bloused, skirts and jeans, there are still shapes and styles of women’s handbags that may be flattering and unflattering to a person. Believe it or not, the handbag that you carry can actually add on or lessen the weight that you appear to carry.

Read on and find out just how to choose the perfect shape, size and style of women handbag that will fit your body type and personal style.

Look at the shape.
Choose the shape that is opposite your body type. For instance, if you are tall and thin, look for bags that are more on the rounded side like the hobo or those that are a bit unstructured. This will complement your figure as it would provide a sharp contrast to your body. If on the other hand, you are on the short and heavy side, it is good to carry women handbags that are tall, rectangular or those with really defined shapes. Long and sleek designs will help counterbalance your more rounded figure. Of course, there is no need to buy women handbags that are absolutely reed thin or those with really sharp edges. Silhouettes in soft fabrics and leathers can do the trick. Just remember to stay away from women handbags with rounded designs.

Think of the size
The size of your bag should complement your size. While the shape should be contrasting and complementing, the size should be in proportion. If for example you are quite tall and big for your age, it would be really awkward for you to carry this really small handbag. The same goes with a really petite person while carrying this really big bag. Awkward. Awkward. Awkward.

Closefitting women handbags or those that can be fit right under the arm at breast level can only look great with women who are slim and those who want to emphasize their cleavage. Using these kinds of women handbags are discouraged for people who have big arms and big busts as the short handles tend to emphasize the large sizes. Remember that the length of the handbag or shoulder bag will always accentuate the part it comes near with. If, for instance, the bag hits your bottom half or hip area, then that area of your body will become more focused as the eyes are naturally drawn to it.

Most women look great with handbags and shoulder bags that end in mid-torso as it flatters the waist. To determine if the length of the strap fits you, try it out. If your arm feels cramped, then it is too short. Try out the bag in the mirror and see for yourself if the bag is flattering to you.

Women’s Guide to Getting Their Dream Diamond Engagement Ring

How can women get their dream diamond engagement ring when it is the boyfriend making the purchase and wanting it to be a surprise? To find the answer you need to understand your man’s thought process. After all, he is shopping for a diamond, the symbol of his love for you.

The man shopping for an engagement diamond has three primary shopping priorities:

1) They want to make a good investment
2) They want to make you happy
3) They fear disappointing you or worse yet, rejection

On all three points, men act out of fear of making a mistake. Their pride and desire to surprise their girlfriend typically prohibit them from asking the woman’s advice. As men so often do, they try to apply logic to what is a very emotional decision.

Most men attack diamond shopping the same as any other problem they face. They research the subject, gather all the facts (often in a spreadsheet), and then make a logical decision. They assume you will have the same priorities they have so they focus on what will be a good investment. They seek a high quality diamond fearing that anything less will as somehow imply some lower level of love.

The man’s first stop is often the jewelry store in the closest shopping mall. They walk in the door and realize they just entered a world foreign to them. They look at rings in the display cases and see more zeros in the price tag than they have seen since they bought their car. Their heart starts pounding as they realize they have to spend thousands of dollars on a tiny little rock they know nothing about, then give it away to someone else or worse yet, face rejection.

Now their legs are shaking so they decide they need to do more research and do it in a friendlier environment. They head home, turn on the computer, and start searching online for clues on how to survive the diamond buying process. Their goal is to find a pretty ring their girlfriend will like and have a few dollars left in their pocket. They feel more comfortable with the discussions of the four C’s (color, clarity, carat weight and cut) where they can match up those letter grades with their budget to find some possible options. However, with a little knowledge comes the sinking feeling that there is a whole lot more for them to learn in order to protect themselves from making an expensive mistake. They become even more determined not to make a mistake so they spend the next weeks and months gathering ever fact and opinion they can find on diamond buying. It is almost like trying to get a drink from a fire hydrant. There is just too much to drink in.

It is at this stage of the shopping process men sometimes forget the reason they started on this adventure in the first place. They can lose sight of the fact that their primary goal is to make their girlfriend happy.

If you are a woman, by now you are probably getting the picture. However, you are asking yourself, what should I do to help ensure the diamond of my dreams and the proposal moment as romantic as I hope?

Here are some suggestions that can help make your dreams come true:

1) Do some shopping yourself so you can tell your boyfriend what shape of diamond you like best on your finger. Do not leave it up to him to guess wrong.

2) If you sense this is going to be mostly a surprise gift, drop some subtle hints about what kind of mounting (solitaire, side stones, etc.) you want for your diamond. If you do not know, hint you want something very simple so he does not make an expensive mistake.

3) If you have a strong preference for the type of metal in the ring (yellow gold, white gold, platinum), find a way to tell him.

4) If you have the type of relationship that supports it, get involved in the diamond buying process. There are more couples shopping together for the engagement ring now than ever before and the result is often higher levels of happiness and lower levels of stress.

Many couples now shop together so the boyfriend knows what shape of diamond the girlfriend likes, knows what style of mounting she likes and then he takes that knowledge to buy the ring on his own timetable and make the presentation a surprise.

The bottom line is your man is trying, to the best of his ability, to do all the right things to make you happy. You just need to be patient and try to appreciate the effort he is making on your behalf. If you would like to see this diamond gift giving repeated, then by all means tell him how proud you are of his research show him how much you love that sparkling diamond on your finger.

Tips for Men Buying Pearl Jewelry For Women

With pearl's popularity growing back dramatically, a traditional white pearl strand becomes a kind of must-have jewelry in each woman's wardrobe. Surprise her by giving her a piece of pearl jewelry as a special gift becomes such a romantic thing for a man to do.

However, when I imagine I must look for a PC game for my boyfriend, I understand how hard it is for a man to find right jewelry for his lover. When facing thousands of styles, where to start! As a fan of pearls working in the pearl jewelry industry, I would like to give you some hints. Start from learning some basic knowledge of pearl quality and then find out the style she likes.

Pearl quality
Remember five factors: nacre, surface, luster, shape and size. A good quality pearl is always thick in nacre (nacre thickness higher than 0.4mm is highly recommended), smooth in surface, high in luster (mirror like luster is best), round in shape and big in size. However, shape, size and color are more for personal preference.

If you are looking for a strand, you also need to pay attention to its matching. Lay the strand into a straight line. Compare the size, color, surface, shape and luster of each pearl. A good match in these aspects results in a good strand. Also, you can compare a few strands with each other, to find out the best one. (More Pearls Knowledge)

Pearl jewelry style
When you are deciding the style, there are so many aspects to consider, such as color, pearl size and shape, pearl strand or designed pearl necklace, etc.

You may pay attention to the clothes and jewelry she often wears, or sneakily look into her jewelry collection, by which you may find out her taste and avoid buying a style she already has.

Take her to shop around. Find out the style of shops she always steps in or the jewelry she stops to look.

If you've already got some ideas but not so sure, you may seek for a chance to tactfully find out her ideas. For example, she is reading a fashion magazine, and you come to sit next to her and pretend you accidentally see a celebrity picture, then you make a fake commend, such as "This necklace is too big for her! I think a pink smaller one is better, what do you think?" or "I think this necklace looks better on you!" Women are always excited to talk about fashion. When you seem to be interested in it, she will patiently give you a full lesson about all her ideas of fashion---from hats to shoes. In the end you may skip most of the lesson, but pick up the information you want - which style of pearl jewelry she likes.

If you still have no idea, go to shop around. Ask the shop assistant to show you some feminine style of pearl necklaces or bracelets. Feminine style is universal because it is always suitable for weddings, birthday, anniversary, etc. If she likes, she can also wear everyday. Also, feminine pearl jewelry is always associated with romance and lasting-love, thus all women like it.

While choosing the right one can be difficult, there are some indicators that you can follow to help you choose the perfect hair accessories to complete the look. Here are just a few:

Tips for Women: How to Choose Clothing for Your Children

From the time your child is born you will be making choices in children's clothing. After having a baby, women usually receive some clothes as baby gifts. Often these are small sizes that your child will outgrow very soon. So you can see that buying clothes is an ongoing task for parents.

As an infant, a baby will change sizes every few weeks. Buy durable clothing in washable, comfortable fabrics. Babies have many accidents so you'll need to buy clothes that are easy to clean. If you use bright colors instead of pastels, they will not soil or stain as easily. When shopping for children‚s clothes, many women seek high-quality clothing. But if you‚re on a tight budget, you can always wait for clothing store sales at places such as Gap, Old Navy, Disney Baby, or Babies R Us.

Bargain Seekers

With the knowledge that a child will outgrow their clothing quickly, some women go thrift shopping and check garage sales. Many times these clothes are barely worn and may even look almost new. Thrift shopping is a good way to find children's brand name clothing without paying the full price. Sometimes clothing for boys in larger sizes is harder to find at these sources because of the wear and tear. Finding clothing for girls may be a bit easier. The key to finding great clothes at a bargain is to shop often. Visit your local thrift shop once a week and frequent yard sales in your area.

Yard sales are even better than thrift stores in some ways because you can bargain with the seller. Try picking out a bundle of clothing and other items; then make an offer for the entire bundle. You might be surprised at how little you will pay for items. Also, check for bargains through the newspaper classifieds. Occasionally, you'll see offerings for children‚s clothing directly through the ads.

Preparing for Ever-Changing Sizes and Needs

When your child gets to the toddler stage, clothing needs will change. During and after potty training, separate tops and bottoms will be more practical. Dresses and pull-on pants make training easier and encourage the toddler to be independent. Buy clothes that are easy to put on and take off so your toddler can learn to dress himself. You will need to buy good shoes that are comfortable. When fitting shoes, allow a half-inch in front of the toes when standing and make sure the heel fits properly.

If you have younger children of the same gender but different ages, or if you plan to have another baby soon, keep unsoiled clothing put away for the next child. This will save you money, and younger children usually never know the difference. Store the clothing in a dry, tightly sealed plastic container to keep mice and moths out. Include a fabric sheet to keep the clothes smelling fresh.

Buying Children‚s Clothing for School

When your child starts school, clothing needs will again change. At this time, your child may want to help pick out clothes. Before you go shopping for clothes, have your child try on last year's clothes and see what can still be worn. Then look for clothing that is comfortable, washable, and easy to keep clean. Many mothers choose children's clothing that is simple with large buttons and has zippers with pulls, elastic waists, and large neck openings. Buy clothes that are appropriate and safe. Avoid big legs, loose ribbons or sashes, and slippery shoes. Even if you can't afford expensive fashionable clothes, choose basic clothing in colors and styles your child likes.

Watch for store sales on school clothing and save money if your state has tax-free shopping days. In the winter, dress your child in layers. While they are outdoors they can wear their coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. Inside, they can also wear layers to remove if they become uncomfortable. A sweatshirt over a button-up shirt or a t-shirt under a button-up shirt will provide this option. Many women with smaller children choose clothing that will be easy to remove when going to the bathroom. The teachers always appreciate this!

Remember that some styles may be cute and very stylish but not comfortable or practical. Look at women's magazines to get ideas, or talk to other mother's that have more experience with children‚s clothing to make the best choices.

Move Over Guys: Women Want Sports Jerseys Too

For generations, there's been a perception that men have an exclusive franchise on sports fandom. We see advertising images of guys sitting at home in front of their television sets, rooting on their favorite teams, or sitting in sports bars with their eyes trained on TV sets over the bar. Sports commentators are almost exclusively men, and the first woman reporter who did an interview in a locker room caused a huge controversy.

Well, times have changed. Women are sports fans, too, and female sports fans are just as enthusiastic about their favorite NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA teams as guys. Like men, women want to express their enthusiasm by wearing sports jerseys adorned with the numbers and names of their favorite players. Historically, though, women who wanted jerseys have been forced to settle for oversize men's sizes and cuts. The result? A far cry from a fashion statement.

Luckily for female fans, NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA teams have begun to sit up and take notice, recognizing that women constitute a good portion of their fan bases. They've also discovered that women are longing for jerseys that reflect women's enthusiasm for sports, but that also have a feminine twist. Increasingly, female sports fans are finding that there are a number of jerseys created specifically with women in mind. Today, a woman can find a pink jersey, a vibrant jersey, a fashion jersey, or a glitter jersey from virtually any team in the NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA.

Breaking out from the pack in women's sports apparel is actress Alyssa Milano, known for her role in the WB's "Charmed" and for her love of baseball. Not only does Alyssa Milano have season tickets to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but she also has her own MLB blog. Moreover, she's gone to the next level and has designed a line of women's MLB apparel. Called "touch," her line features fan wear that exudes femininity.

For example, the "touch" women's criss-cross white tank top features a shelf bra with a screened logo in the center of the chest area. The scoop back features criss-cross spaghetti straps that give the top its feminine appeal. Her baseball jerseys are tradition with a twist: the white body and colored 3/4-length sleeves may be old school, but the rouching detail at the hem on the side seam is purely modern. Alyssa Milano's spaghetti top features tie strings at the shoulders, while her short-sleeved hoodie features a zipper, contrast stitching, and the team logo near the bottom left hemline. Other jerseys accent short sleeves with glitter stripes.

There's no doubt that women's fashion sense is making a splash in the sports world. Replica storm jerseys, fashion jerseys, pink ribbon jerseys, and glitter jerseys are giving female fans one more thing to cheer about!

Women's golf apparel has come a long way in the past few years, and is available in an unprecedented number of styles and sizes - including, thankfully, plus-size golf clothing. Here's an overview of this season's offerings:

Bette & Court

Bette & Court offers four collections: Samba, Sundance, Zanzibar, and Swing. Their women's golf clothing includes sleeveless and short-sleeved tops with zip collars and contrasting trim that feature moisture-wicking fabric, and capris in knit, microfiber, and moisture-wicking fabrications. Argyle V-neck sweaters and plaid capris offer a fashionable alternative to solids and block colors.

EP Pro

EP Pro takes women's golf clothing to the next level with color and prints in seven collections: Finding Nemo, Kapalua, Safari, Sandcastle, Sawgrass, Zanzibar, Potpourri, and Urban Jungle. Floral print golf skorts and poplin plaid skorts are just the beginning of the fashion story, with argyle sleeveless shells, cuffed pedal pushers, and coordinating quilted bags rounding out the tale.

Fairway & Greene

Fairway & Greene kick the basics up a notch with their Fun in the Sun, Spring Fling, Maple Ridge, and Northern Lights collections. Sport Haley

Sport Haley keeps it elemental - as in their Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water collections. How to Accessorize Women's Clothing

Looking your best is not all about buying expensive clothes. If you want to look stylish, think about accessories. Women's accessories can help you can reflect your personality and preferences without being outlandish.

Accessories can be great for defining your good points and minimizing the less favorable ones. They also can help you look more fashionable even without wearing fad or trendy clothing. Women's garments can be accessorized with jewelry accessories, a scarf, a purse, a belt, gloves, and women's shoes. All these items combined can make your outfits look charming and complete.

Tips for Women's Accessories

Choose accessories that coordinate with the fabric, colors, and textures of your clothing. Find accessories for women's clothes that will work with more than one outfit to stretch your budget. For instance, look for neutral-colored items such as hats, scarves, handbags, gloves, and jewelry so you can wear these with a number of outfits. Colors that usually go great with a variety of patterns include plain tan, white, blue, green, red, and black.

With basic women‚s accessories, try to follow the fashion trends. Look through fashion magazines to see what is trendy for the season and change your accessories as needed. You can great ideas on how to combine colors, fabrics, and patterns for a great outfit. Keep in mind that many fashion magazines go to the extreme when it comes to trendy women‚s clothing and accessories. There are some women‚s garments displayed in magazines that you would never dare to wear. So, choose those that you feel will look great on you for the occasion, and leave the others to the fashion models!

You might also be able to use your jewelry, shoes, or belts with different ensembles after you get some new ideas. Many clothing items for women can be interchanged with other pieces to create multiple outfits. So you might wear one shirt with two different skirts or one skirt with several different shirts. Then switch around your accessories to match.

Accessorize with Jewelry

Make sure your jewelry complements your clothing's neckline. If you were wearing an open v-neck blouse or sweater, then a lovely necklace would complete it. If you have a detailed neckline with fancy trim or stitching, try wearing a nice bracelet and eye-catching earrings.

If you have a complex necklace and bracelet set, wear it with something simple. A long necklace will draw the focus away from your neck and face if that's your goal. Avoid wearing earrings that bring all the attention to your ears; they should complete your outfit but not overpower it. A fancy or detailed handbag should be used with a simple, single colored outfit.

Be Trendy and Fashionable

Be sure to wear a variety of accessories; don't wear the same necklace with every outfit or the same scarf with every suit. Mix and match your accessories so your outfits will always be appealing and interesting.

Women's accessories can be fun to pick out and wear once you know how to shop. If you want a new look or need help getting started, pick up some women's magazines to discover what looks good with what and find the styles that you like. Then go through your closet and put together a new wardrobe with dazzling women's accessories to match. Use these accessory ideas to look your best every day!

Bargain Hunting for Women's Plus Size Apparel

If finding women’s plus size apparel is difficult, then finding clothing in large sizes at bargain prices is an even greater challenge. To get the best deals on plus size clothes, consider shopping online, at local stores, and through mail-order catalogs. The following are eight strategies for saving money:

- Look for a sale, clearance, or outlet section on the website of your favorite retailer. Occasionally, you can save up to 80% off original prices this way. If your retailer is owned by a parent company, also check the parent company’s website for a clearance or outlet section.

- Comparison shop for similar items at different websites. If you plan to wear an item only a few times or occasionally, perhaps you can purchase a similar but cheaper item.

- Always use a search engine to look for a coupon code your retailer may have. Many websites actually track these coupon codes along with expiration dates to help shoppers save. When filling out your order form online or in a catalog, look for an entry for “coupon code” or “promo code” and then enter a coupon code that applies. If ordering online, be sure to verify that you have received the discount for entering the coupon code.

- Go to the website of your favorite plus size retailer and sign up to receive e-mail specials. In addition, if the sign-up form offers a print catalog, request the catalog also. By signing up, you will receive notifications through e-mails and catalogs of any specials the retailer may be having. Note that you should sign up only with retailers that really interest you or your mailbox may become crammed with excessive e-mails.

- Buy clothing out-of-season or pre-season. Many retailers will offer steep discounts on out-of-season items.

- Buy machine-washable clothes. The cost of having to dry clean an item will make that item expensive in the long run. If you are not sure whether an item is machine-washable, be sure to ask the retailer before you buy.

- Visit local stores that carry plus size clothing and browse through their clearance racks. Some local retailers try to quickly rid their racks of excessive inventory to make room for the latest fashion.

- Purchase items that coordinate well with what you already have in your wardrobe in terms of styling and color.

Using the above strategies will help you save on plus size clothing. Dressing well should not have to be an expensive endeavor for the full-figured woman.

Losing Weight

Fig 1

Hi All,
I have been pondering whether to write this article or not, I decided too because I am fed up with the mixed messages people are getting regarding being over weight on the internet.

You’ve seen the ads I was this size when I started and now after 2 months I am this size after applying, whatever the gimmick is as advertised.

I am overweight myself and I have tried all sorts of lifestyle changing diets and exercises. When you go on the internet, there is a lot of sensationalising of products that will do all the work for you and take off those pounds that are hindering your life.

I am not condoning or blaming all companies, as there are some good products out there to help aid you in losing weight.

The problem is that many people are in a situation like myself overweight, suffering from many ailments, such as heartburn, feeling queasy, but the worst of these feeling 24/7 bloated (fig 1).

I went to the doctor when I had been ill with the flu, only for the doctor to pinpoint the fact I look overweight, then all was concentrated on my overweight condition, “when did you last have a mini health check”?

Oh no here we go, “your blood pressure is abnormally high, let’s book you in to have a blood test and check your blood count”.

I only came in for a check for my flu symptoms! Now this doctor is publicising the fact that I am overweight and most of my illness is due to the weight.

The results are in and I am told that my blood pressure is a worry, but most of my blood count results were good. But the doctor told me to change my lifestyle and the food I eat.

But as a precursor anyone that is thinking of or going to have a lifestyle change should see your doctor first before you start. It is good to have a check like this to give you a history of your current condition.

The annoying thing here is that I changed my food habit and started exercising in a gym again. I started to lose weight and then, to my disappointment I started to put weight back on?

What was going on, I have cut out a lot of sugar based foods and cut down on my calorie intake, supplemented by my attendance at the gym. At that moment I became despondent and gave up!

Well what else could I do, I cut down on my food intake and train and my body is still no worse off and to cap it all I still feel bloated!

The moment of no return came when I needed to use my suit, I couldn’t believe it I have blown up like a balloon and I now can’t fit my suit, I don’t know what size I am I am fed up and I feel sick all the time.

I am virtually at am impasse! What the hell do I do, I am feeling my heart palpitations more and I know my blood pressure is high, what’s happening to me?

If I seek information on the website all I am surrounded by is the amazing use of diet pills, pills and more pills!

That was not good enough for me, I wanted to know why I was ill and why I was continually bloated to all proportions.

I found information about the production of food and what food additives side effects on humans are.

I also through research found out all the symptoms I was suffering from and why. In all I answered the question that NO ONE would admit too which is all foods we are eating have varying amount of chemicals and toxins in the form of additives and food colourings.

So I know now what can be causing my problems, my stomach feeling like an acid bath continuingly bubbling away and causing me nothing but discomfort. My question is how do I tackle this?

Again I have done research about this and found that in order for the many diets and gymnasium regimes to work I need to start my lifestyle change from within.

When you see on the Internet websites citing that you should workout and get a six pack to be fit, please shun this it’s pure bu****t? Sorry for the profanity!

When I here people telling me they measure a person’s fitness by the size of their six pack, I just shake my head in disbelieve!

To the many people out there who have given up and are disillusioned, fitness starts from inside out.

You will need to start by detoxifying your body. Now when I say detox I don’t mean buying rubbish products that have laxative ingredients in its content.

In essence you will need to start undoing what you have allowed yourself to put your body through. You will need to do a colon cleanse

This will entail flushing the digestive system of all the accumulated toxins that have built up over the years in your stomach.

Also to enable effective flushing you will also need to PH balance your digestive system as by now acid build up would be the main cause of your heartburn and queasiness.

To follow the routine of this takes 3 days to do a colon flush. When I did this I wanted to clean my system completely out, so I did the three days water fast.

Not all of you will have the will power to drink water; instead you can drink fresh fruit. Just to be on the safe side check with your doctor.

Remember this is just the beginning of your recovery, once you have finished your detox, you will really need to make drastic changes with the food you eat, because you will start to feel yourself again, your senses will kick in again and you will be more aware of what you eat.

Knowledge of the foods that affect us is what you need to know in order for you to make informed changes to your new lifestyle change to the food you will be consuming.

Now that you have made these changes, you will need to balance these changes with exercises at the gymnasium to help your body promote your body to maximise your metabolism to what it should be doing effectively.

N.B

Metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories to sustain life. Your body burns calories 24 hours a day, everyday regardless of whether or not you workout.

After Colon Cleansing, Exercise can aid weight loss?

There is a world epidemic of obesity and there is no sign of it abating. My personal view in this cites the food industry introducing various synthetic organic and non-organic chemicals.

Many of these chemicals are better known for causing weight loss at high levels of exposure but much lower concentrations of these same chemicals have powerful weight-promoting actions.

This property has already been widely exploited commercially to produce growth hormones that fatten livestock and pharmaceuticals that induce weight gain in grossly underweight patients.

My point with this information is that we are spending too much energy into the cause of obesity, when we should be looking into the resolution. There are many advertised solutions that are mesmerising people with the phrase “Amazing”.

This is an amazing product that can…

• Why are our bodies not reacting to the many diets that have been tried?
• Why are you feeling bloated all the time?
• Why do you feel full of gas?
• Heartburn burning acid is fermenting in your stomach
• Why are you constantly buying indigestion tablets?
• Feeling nausea and even a little sick after some meals?
All these questions can be compounded into one answer TOXINS? The only way to get the feel of your body back, is to go through a regime that will help to eradiate those poisonous toxins from your body, that have built up through all those years.

You need to go through a course of colon cleansing. It amazes me that we have a makeover, we cut and style our hair, and we have our nails done, but do nothing for our insides.

Fitness is judged from the healthiness with, but too much vanity is placed on physical attributes. Once you have cleaned your system, you will need to help reach your goal of losing weight constantly.

Through your new lifestyle change, you need to change the food that you eat, when you chose the right food it will energise and give you a new sense of well being.

You need a barometer to show that your efforts are making real progress. As below you need to combine food intake with an exercising routine that will work for you.

To lose weight, you have to burn calories at a higher rate than you consume for some time. But in reality for the majority of people using a Gym, time is at a premium so to carry out such advised exercise plans is not possible.

I think knowledge is vitally important to enable you to devise an exercise plan that can still be affective over a short period of time in the gym or if you have the space at home.

The combination of Aerobic and Anaerobic exercise will an overall workout that will keep the body confused and the fat burning process metabolism firing on all cylinders in your body.

Aerobic
Aerobic calories burns fat as your body breathes in oxygen. Low-intensity activities such as walking are mainly fat burning. However, as your body's need for energy becomes greater than your rate of oxygen intake, your body begins burning anaerobic calories.

The word aerobic literally means 'with oxygen' or 'in the presence of oxygen'. Aerobic exercise is any activity that uses large muscle groups, can be maintained continuously for a long period of time and is rhythmic in nature.

Aerobic activity trains the heart, lungs and cardiovascular system to process and deliver oxygen more quickly and efficiently to every part of the body.
Think of aerobic activity as being long in duration yet low in intensity.

Aerobic activities include: brisk walking, cycling, jogging, swimming, aerobic classes and cross-trainer.

Anaerobic
Anaerobic calories:
Burn glucose by converting a starch stored in your muscles known as glycogen. Since this doesn't require oxygen, anaerobic calories are used in very strenuous activities for short periods.

The accumulation of lactic acid as a by product of anaerobic activity produces a burning sensation in the muscle. This symptom means you are burning glycogen, not fat. You can't feel fat burning!

So it's pretty obvious that in order to lose fat to the maximum, you must concentrate on aerobic activities rather than anaerobic activities.
Anaerobic activities include, intense short period exercise: Weightlifting, sit-ups and knee-bends.

“A key benefit of anaerobic exercise is that it raises your metabolic rate higher than an aerobic workout and for a longer period once you are finished”.

Anaerobic and aerobic exercise each has their own pluses and minuses, but combining them nicely balances the two.

Aerobic exercise reduces stress, improves your circulation, burns more fat than anaerobic, but it decreases muscle mass.

Anaerobic exercise increases muscle mass, increases cardio capacity but doesn't burn a lot of fat.

By combining both, you will maintain muscle growth, improve bone density, optimize your cardiovascular system (stamina) and gain the fat burning benefit of both.

As a final thought, the more muscle fibre you have, the more calories you burn throughout the day as your body works to repair and maintain those muscle fibres, but as an after thought you need to implement rest periods to compliment both routines.

Fitted Hats - More than a Fashion Statement

The urban clothing scene isn't complete without a collection of fitted hats. Fitted hats also known as a "fitted" are baseball caps that have no size adjustment. They fit snuggly on your head and have a much better appearance as there are no straps in the back. These hats are very popular among the young crowd and in urban fashion. They come in hundreds of styles and colors. Many urban outfits aren't considered complete without the wearing of a fitted.

Fitted hats come in various sizes but will still fit snug when you choose the appropriate size for you. The most popular hats are those displaying the logo of a favorite baseball team. Many times the team represents more of the location rather than the team itself. For example, the Boston Red Sox and NY Yankees are popular among those living in those cities. For those who do not live in the same city, the selected team hat is more a representation of a favorite team or favorite colors. Fitted hats are made by various manufacturers and one of the top ones is New Era.

You can find fitted hats in almost every shopping mall in America as well as specialized online shops. While many sporting fans still purchase these hats, they are still most popular for fashion more than anything else. The hats range in price, however, you have to beware of hats that are too low in price as there is a high chance of it being a knock-off. Knock-off hats are also made of poor quality and are likely to fade easily or fall apart.

It is not uncommon for someone who is into urban fashion to own several fitteds. They are also collectors items as some fitteds are produced in limited quantities or for special events. Some people own as many fitted hats as they do shoes. They are one of the top accessories for street wear and make as much of an impact to one's outfit as the right shoes do.

If you come across a limited edition fitted hat, it is wise to purchase two. One to wear and one to keep in your collection. Many times, rare and hard to find fitted hats can go for quite a bit of money on popular auction sites such as eBay. Fitted hats are also not limited to men and boys. Women and girls are also getting into the fashion trend by wearing fitted hats with their casual outfits.

You can visit many urban fashion forums and see exactly which fitted hats make the cut. These forums often have users post their photos wearing fitted with their favorite outfits. Other forum members rate the overall outfit and usually comment on the fitted hat as well. Fitted hats work for any age. You don't have to be a teenager to wear one and be in style. If you want to save money on a fitted hat, you can find very good deals on the internet. There is so much competition online that many online shops will lower their prices or have closeout sales.

'It' bags are the classic cars of the fashion set

Handbags are the new shoes, the must have "it" accessory that has all the fashion-istas clamouring for the latest offering from popular designers. It's also a market that has more in common with the male-dominated world of classic cars than you'd realise.
Few of you will have missed the fuss a couple of months ago when Sainsbury's sold 20,000 "I'm not a plastic bag" Anya Hind-march totes for [pound]5 each. Within hours those same unbleached cotton bags were selling for in excess of [pound]150 on eBay. "Every girl has a handbag," says Christie's specialist Monica Turcich, "and every girl wants one. Women now want the 'it' bag and the one nobody else is carrying. They've always been popular and they are the section of our 20th-century fashion sales for which we get the most phone calls, but now they are doing particularly well because everyone wants handbags, whereas 10 years ago there weren't the 'it' bags like we have today, simply the classics."
Like cars, most of the more recent designer handbags which sell through dealers and auction houses make significantly less than their original retail price, losing value the second the initial purchase has taken place. That is good news for both collector investors and handbag enthusiasts, but there are some exceptions to the rule.
Last March Christie's sold a red Hermes crocodile skin Kelly bag for [pound]10,800, this had only been purchased in 1994 and was originally a bespoke product. The Kelly bag is the "holy grail" of the classic handbag world according to Turcich. "Chloe and other more contemporary bags are more driven by what's popular now, but for Hermes and Chanel's quilted bag, these are classics which never go out of style and are always useable." Kelly bags can be bought for [pound]600 and can often be sold on for [pound]1,000- [pound]2,000, which isn't bad for a bag which might have been bought back in the 1960s.
There's no doubt that most handbags are being bought to be used, it's not an investment market in the same way as many other collectables such as paul smith,Abercrombie and Fitch, dsquared etc, but again there are parallels to the car market. By buying a classic bag and looking after it, you are unlikely to lose money, rather see a steady gain with the added return of enjoying using it.
Hindmarch's "I'm not a plastic bag" bags are unlikely to make it to "classic" status, they are after all mass-produced cotton totes, but other handbags from her range might well do so. So far Christie's has-n't sold any Hindmarch bags, but Turcich says she wouldn't be surprised if they start turning up at auction soon and she wouldn't turn them away. "Kylie Minogue was pictured carrying a Chloe bracelet bag around a few years ago which sparked a fashion and now we are selling the same thing at auction."
There is a pristine one in the next auction which is estimated at [pound]800 to [pound]1,000 along with another Chloe handbag in the same lot. "I think Chloe has started the 'it' bag scene" adds Turcich, "I don't know how long it will take for them to become classics of their own, but I'm sure these will hold their value in five or 10 years' time. People just don't seem to have paid attention to the fact that handbags have become the new shoes in the last few years, there is now an appreciation of the design that goes into them. There are shoe designers that are artists and so too with handbags."
It's not always about big names, a few weeks ago Ms Minogue was at the shop of Tony Durante, a handbag dealer at Alfie's in London, and purchased a white raffia bag with a horse's head on the front for around [pound]200. Brightly coloured raffia bags are in at the moment because it's summer. Durante says that Kylie loved this particular bag because it was unusual. Buying it from a vintage fashion dealer she's unlikely to bump into another celebrity carrying one. Durante says that his customers are looking for this "unusualness" factor.
If you do want to retain the value in your handbag then you should go for one that is in excellent condition, is a good design and beautiful. Some "it" bags will undoubtedly go down in value as fashions change, but the classics should stay steady.

Plus Size Women Dress Stylish Too

I have recently been to the Clothes Show London ExCel, where the feedback was overwhelmingly in favour of plus size women.
We had on display a lot of Boutique clothing which in description are one off designs, contemporary classics with a “twist”.
Many of the clothing were sparkling with Swarovski stones that added glamour to our outfits. Many women visited and all they could see was size 12 – 14.
The answers we got after a fairly long browse was “do you have this in larger sizes”, you know the answer to that, a disappointing NO. We had colour, style, but not the right size.
After the Clothes Show we decided to do some plus size pieces. There are many women out there who for me drive a vanity and style that’s missing amongst others.
I don’t understand why other stores and manufactures advertise plus size and the fact that they have large supplies of clothing.
But to the disappointment to a lot of ladies, what is offered is a load of drab looking lifeless coloured clothes.
For some reason when it comes to plus size, that maybe the case but where there are large sizes, there are less variety. When your choices are between beige and dark beige, you know you're in a plus sized store.
“I learnt a lot about the challenges faced by plus size women when it comes to lack of variety”.
I know there are many women who see clothes in the mainstream that they like, but for some reason, they left out the creativity for plus sizes and ingeniously created the dullest creation of clothes, making it either a one size fits all or confusion to max with the size coding.
It’s about time Boutiques like us should break from the pack and create something a bit special, a bit daring, full of life with pastel colours, but most of all the Avant-Garde of all plus size clothes, to compliment one body.
Can you comment on the above as your input is important to know that we will be producing the right style and feel to the garments that we want to create.
This can only be achieved by learning from your comments whether they are negative or positive as they matter very much.

Thanks
Kevin

New York City Savors Couture Fashion Week

Event producer Andres Aquino presented the prestigious award to Mr. Khansa on the evening of September 9 before an audience of international press and enthusiastic fashionistas. The presentation followed the designer’s fashion show which presented his latest collection of breathtaking couture designs done in opulent fabrics with lavish embellishments, each piece more dazzling than the last.

Tani Keller of Germany was named “Most Innovative Fashion Designer” in recognition of her fine leather couture collection for Spring 2006 entitled "Garden of Eden.” Each piece was an original couture creation, a feast for the eyes.

The 3-day event showed the latest collections of a select group of international as well as American designers, many presenting in New York for the first time. For a number of designers for whom English is not their first language, challenges included not only the hectic pace of putting on a fashion show, but also dealing with cultural differences and the use of interpreters. Once the makeup was in place, hair tousled just so, gowns slipped on, and models lined up, the music began to pulse, the lights went up, and the first model strode onto the catwalk. Excitement built as
the cameras began to click and the designers’ creations emerged. Couture had
landed in New York with a splash from many foreign lands.

The collections had names reflecting the creative philosophies and moods of the designers.

From Latvia Anna Osmushkina presented “Heaven”, weightless designs in natural fabrics hand-woven using an original technology. Embellishments in Swarovski and Kornelius precious stones, ostrich feathers, and natural furs give added dimension and luxury. Anna’s color palette is as airy as the dawn in shades of gold, bronze, rose, sky blue and white. Handcrafted shawls and capes completed a number of the graceful feminine ensembles

Galina Dacheva from Bulgaria showed her “Timeless Fashion Collection” based on the ancient craft of knitting but jazzed revved up to a modern sensibility. The collection is an amalgam of both fashion and history.

The stunning collection from Payal Jain of India was entitled simply “Blanc”, designs fit for a princess. Payal was inspired by the mysterious weaves of the East and the structure of the West. A seemingly simple yet actually complex texturization. Exotic silk weaves are sculpted into flowing
silhouettes with tone on tone treatments.

Lourdes Libman presented her “Unequally Blue” collection, a combination of
tropical flavor from her native Dominican Republic and sophisticated European flair.

The Russian designer contingent presented strong collections from three gifted designers:
- Galit Couture, coming to New York from Russia via Israel, showed a group of beautiful fairy-tale bridal gowns. These dream-like creations are for the bride who wants to be the “Belle of the Ball” making an unforgettable entrance on her special day.
- Routa’s designs are visual poetry brought to life with a unique perspective on fabric and style.
- Lilia Berzon presented a group of sensuous evening designs characterized by an innovative use of fabrics and structural elements.

Among the American designers taking part in Couture Fashion Week was Philadelphia-based Dah-veese whose striking “urban couture” collection features the juxtaposition of signature denim with unexpected fabric combinations: fine silk organza, silk dupioni, silk taffeta, silk linen and cotton with an emphasis on angles, dimension, depth and texture.

“We have already received a large number of requests from designers around the world as well as sponsors interested in participating in next season’s fashion shows”, notes producer Andres Aquino. “So we expect this event to continue to grow at a fast pace and to continue to serve as the most important platform to present couture fashion in New York.”

Fashion Tips For Plus Size Ladies Over 50

Women are just like fine wine. As they get older, more mature, and more beautiful, their inner woman seems to gain a sense of assured confidence, brought on by the years of experience in life. I have always admired women over 50 who carry their age with a sense of pride, style and class.

As women get older their sense of fashion seems to mature along with them. What is trendy and ‘in fashion’ might not necessarily be the apparel of choice any longer. Why does this happen? Probably as women get busier and have more responsibilities they seem to opt for items which are comfortable to work in not necessarily stylish.

However I think women should not give up their sense of style, just because their day got busier and a few gray hairs are showing up here and there. On the other hand as women get older they should adjust to their age, by choosing items of clothing which enhance their beauty and their figure.

Plus size women who are over 50 have every reason to dress in a stylish manner. Stores which cater for their needs might not necessarily be easily available, that is true. However that is no reason to compromise. Especially with the Internet being so widely available these days, a multitude of store are suddenly available to cater for a mature plus size woman’s needs. For instance store like Ulla Popken and Junonia have a great selection of plus size clothing available which is great for the mature woman’s needs. Prices are reasonable and sizes are vast.

Mature plus size ladies should be careful to choose items which make the most of their curves, and also their age. Some tips to abide by are the following –

1. Be careful to choose the right size to fit your body. Don’t go for items which fit too tightly, the idea if for clothing to hug your body so that is gives it definition and enhances the curves. Choosing items which are too tight will not look too classy. At the same times items which are too baggy should also be avoided. Your dress of choice does not have to look like a tent! Just because you’re plus size, does not mean you have to hide your body. Show off those beautiful curves in a classy and chic manner.

2. Avoid fussy prints. Fussy fabrics have the tendency to make plus size women look even bigger. While we are proud of our curves, the clothing we choose should make the most of our full figures, enhancing them instead of giving them wrong definition.

3. Stick to classic designs and clean cuts. Just as fussy printed fabrics make us look a little bit bigger, so do fussy designs. For example avoid too much frill and things of the sort. Such clothing does not help define a full figured body to the best of it’s shape. Instead stick clean cuts and classic designs which work best for our curves.

4. Try and avoid wearing anything that is too short. If you have beautiful legs, be proud of them and by all mean show them off whenever you get a chance however, do this with taste, style and moderation. Do wear skirts and shorts. However avoid anything that is too short.

5. As we get older, some parts of our body tend to lose some of that useful gravity. This is nothing to worry about, as when choosing clothes and underwear with good support, things can be kept up to the necessary heights at all times. However I would suggest not to exposure the arms too much.

Being over 50 does not mean women have to give up on having a sense of style. Especially not plus size women! On the other hand women should make the most of this time in their life. With the right clothes any plus size lady who is over 50 can look and feel like a million dollars!

Trendy Eyewear For The Fashion Conscious

Long been flaunted as the "must-have" accessories of superstars and celebrities, eyewear has finally gained world-wide acceptance. A piece of eyewear today does more than just protect your eyes from the harmful Ultra Violet (UV) rays of the sun. What you wear on your eyes is also seen as a reflection of your personality and individual style quotient. The right pair of eyewear can add that touch of style, hint of mystique and truly announce to the world that you have finally arrived!

Planet Eyewear!
The range of eyewear available today is mind-boggling. With numerous brands, big and small, choosing the right eyewear can be tricky and daunting. From sports eyewear to formal eyewear to casual, the range is wide and prices suitable for most people.

Whether you want to flaunt trendy eyewear models such as Oakley and Oxydo or other designer models, sometimes also referred to as “jewelry items” such as Gucci, Ferrari, and Bvlgari, the constantly evolving eyewear design trends, colors, and shapes are defining pointers for what your look will be fashioned on.

Don’t just buy sunglasses to protect eyes. Pay special attention that the eyewear flatters your face as well. Choose from the latest styles; you can pick from wraps, shields, aviators, clip-ons, oversized Jackie O frames, or the really cool futuristic shapes that have flooded the markets.

From New York to Shanghai, various brands of sunglasses have made their way into the market, so must be aware of counterfeits. Stay away from cheap and bad quality plastic lens; these can harm your eyes rather than protecting them. Buy from a reputable store or then shop online at known websites such as www.fuzing.com

Current eyewear trends
According to eyewear fashion experts, large shapes, especially the square shaped frames and the aviators (usually unisex) are currently in vogue. Lens colors or shades that compliment these eyewear shapes are brown, grey and black. So what about blue and pink shades? Well, these colors are completely out and people only want dark tones. Black and grey have also been the most popular choice forever!

Having discussed the shape and color, it’s time to find out what materials are in demand. Consider this: the young crowd is drawn to plastic frames and those that show-off different layered and colored effects to the hilt. Want a sure shot tip on which color frames to choose? Try red and black and/or red and white. You can’t ever go wrong with these two combinations. Don’t like colored effects? No problem. The very chic and fashionable tortoise shell effect is just what will make you look like your favorite celebrity!

Here’s a tip: Try to buy a frame that has a more classic silhouette, rather than a bulky and loud frame. Aim for the timeless look by sticking with sleek materials. Dark colors such as black, brown, grey, or silver and plastic or wire help you stay in style even in the flood of trends!

Style Statements for Women and Men
The emerging trend in eyewear is now gearing towards color coordination. For women it means choosing a pair of sunglasses or eyewear that is based on the color of their hair and complexion. The oversized sunglasses with double shades and a perfectly well displayed logo gleaming on the sides, which can also double-up as a hair bands are extremely popular and a huge style statement.

Men can make style statements by flashing the aviator or other distinct-looks in metallic, rimless, or wire frames. It’s fairly common knowledge now that most people who are splurging on expensive branded eyewear, usually have more then a couple of pairs at least. They are on the look out for a particular piece that is distinct and unique for that specific moment.

Designer Eyewear for the Fashion Conscious
If you are looking for a range of eyewear styles from the conventional to the contemporary then look no further than the style guru – Tommy Hilfiger. Tommy’s new Fall 2007 fashion eyewear collection comes with a new twist, which makes the traditional and classical sunglasses and spectacles look vibrant, unique and chic but not ostentatiously so. This juxtaposition of the old with the new, conventional with the urban hip in this new collection, is suitable for any wardrobe and any event.

But if you rather invest in a futuristic or ultra contemporary look then Bvlgari is the brand for you. Hip shapes that are further aesthetically enhanced with the Bvlgari motifs add a streak of glamour to this collection. The different styles available are Quadrato, Parentesi, Astrale and Cicladi, in light and refined metal, acetate frames and Swarovski crystals.

Burberry collection is all about being retro. The vintage, retro look in different styles like the wide square shape, or the slightly rounder shapes is in vogue. Classified as the Runaway Collection, these eyewear pieces are studded with semi-precious stones on the sides.

Getting the Right Look!
Yes, getting the right look is not easy at all. And the best way to find a suitable frame for your face does involve the need for a trial effort. Spend as much time as you can on trying different frames, styles, lens shapes before buying the perfect and trendy pair of eyewear. After all, you deserve it!

Effortless Fashions With Head-Turning Flair

This season there's no need to fret over seemingly impossible-to-achieve styles. The key is to make your look appear low-maintenance. A comfortable outfit with stylish trimmings, if done correctly, can be your best look yet.

"This season's look is relaxed, feminine and flattering on just about everyone," says Jennifer DeBarge-Goonan, Marshalls' style expert. "The goal is to make your style look effortless by mixing and matching the season's hottest trends." She offers this stress-free guide to looking fabulous this season:

• A Perfect Fit-To look your best, only wear properly-fitting clothes. Whether you're a size 2 or a 22, buy what fits and ignore the "number" size. Remember, just because you can button it, doesn't mean it fits.

• Room To Breathe-This season is about flowing fabric and soft movement. No super-tight styles here. To avoid looking frumpy, pair a full, flowing skirt with a top that features straight, tailored lines. Make sure you can't fit two people in your tunic, but a little bit of room-that's just perfect.

• Short Shorts-Who wears short shorts? Gals that are super fit or supermodels. Luckily, for the rest of us, gauchos and Bermuda shorts are once again a warm-weather favorite. "Shorts" that meet the knee are popping up everywhere. Dress 'em up with a sexy heel or dress them down with cute flip-flops…either way, they're hot.

• Color Me Beautiful-Earthy tones are everywhere: beige, cream, yellow. To stay ultrahip, lace your favorite frock with brown accents. Keep it earthy, keep it cool.

• A Feminine Flair-A delicate ruffle here? An embroidered flower there? Lace? White crochet? Yes! Chances are that deep down, every woman has a touch of a "girly-girl" sitting pretty inside of her. Subtle reminders of femininity can be found on everything from thick belts to bohemian skirts.

• Can't Forget The Accessories -The fastest way to turn a boring, old outfit into something fab is to pair it with some fun shoes and a big ol' handbag. This season's shoes? Heels with a peekaboo toe or funky wedge sandals. The bag? As long as it's big, it's ideal. Protect your eyes with oversized sunglasses.

• For The Boys-Okay, ladies, it may not be all about us. The men in your life should be looking fabulous, too. This season, suggest preppy polo shirts and plaid shorts. If you've got a "guy's guy" on your hands, get him vintage T-shirts or leather flip-flops. Because after all, the better he looks, the better we look!

Should You Let Your Teen Become a Fashion Model?

Are the parent of a teenager? If you are, have you ever been asked by your teen to be a fashion model? While a large number of teens who want to be fashion models are girls, there are some boys who also wish to do so. Although your teen may wish to become a teen fashion model, the question is should you let them?

When it comes to determining whether or not you should let your teen be a teen fashion model, there are a number of important factors that you may want to take into consideration. One of those factors is where they would model. Is your teen only interested in participating in local fashion shows, like ones that may be run by local fashion designers or local fashion store owners? Or, are they interested in “making it big?” These are important questions that you may want to get answers to because it may actually mean the difference between a yes and a no answer.

Another factor that you may want to take into consideration is jobs. Was your teenager recently approach by a local fashion designer or fashion store owner? Did they happen to see a local advertisement asking for teen models for an upcoming local fashion show? If they did, your teen likely stands a better change of actually becoming a teen fashion model, even if it only is for a day or two. Teens who aim high as fashion models likely have a lot of drive and ambition; unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to make it as a professional teen fashion model. That is just something that you may want to keep in mind.

Another factor that you may want to take into consideration is the type of fashions that your teen would be modeling. This may be a little bit hard to determine if they haven’t yet lined up any appearances, but it still something that you will want to take into consideration. Teen fashions include a wide range of clothing pieces. There are swimwear pieces that are often modeled, as well as summer clothes, and so forth. If your teen is interested in participating in a local fashion show, will they screen or keep an eye on all viewers? Unfortunately, with many local fashion shows, just about anyone can enter, including possible child predators. Making money as a fashion model is a great way for you child to learn about jobs and money, but it is important that you also remember to keep their safety in mind as well.

As previously stated, if your teenager would like to become a teen model and if you are fine with them doing so, you may have better luck targeting local fashion shows. With that in mind, however, if you would like to help your child “make it big,” there are a number of different steps that you can take. Some of those steps may include getting professional photographs of them taken, as well as the hiring of an agent. The only thing that you need to do is be careful with who you choose to work with. With the recent interest in teen and child models, many parents are getting scammed by unsavory individuals. Do the proper research first and you shouldn’t have any troubles trying to get your teen into modeling.

The above mentioned factors are just a few of the many that you may want to take into consideration, should your teenager ask about becoming a teen model. As previously mentioned, working as a teen model is a great way to prepare your child for working in the “real world,” but it is a decision that should be made by the whole family.
