Hairstyle Tips for your Face Shape

Hairstyle is one the basic concern of one’s fashion. It really reflects one's own personality. Hairstyle as the word implies is the way one designs and grooms the hair in order to make a good appeal to others. One sort of hairstyle may suit one but it may not suit the other. To choose the appropriate hairstyle you should first think of your face shape. Believe me you new trendy hairstyle will change your appearance completely. Make sure you have chosen a trendy hairstyle that best corresponds to your face.

There are seven basic types of facial shapes. They are:

  1. Oval

  2. Round

  3. Oblong

  4. Heart

  5. Square

  6. Diamond

What's good and what's not hairstyles for your face shape:

Oval Face

Good: Chin-skimming bobs, blunt bangs, long, beachy waves (think California surfer girl).

Not Good: Short layers that add height on top of your head. This will make your face appear long. If your hair is thick or curly, avoid a blunt cut. You'll look like a pyramid.

Round Face

Good: Soft, graduated layers are a great bet because they make your face appear slimmer and tend to remove bulk and weight from the sides. Short hair styles with a swept-babk direction or hair styles that are longer than chin length. By layering the top to achieve fullness and keeping the rest of the cut relatively close to the face, your face shape will appear longer and narrower. Bangs are flattering, but keep them long or sideswept.

Not Good: One-length, blunt cuts if you have short hair. Curly, short hair is also a no-no. These only emphasize your roundness. A rounded haircut ending at the chin will certainly add weight to your face shape. Because the widest part of your face is at the cheeks and ears, you need to avoid having the fullness of the cut here as it will make your face appear wider.

Oblong

Good: Side-swept bangs. Chin-length bobs are also ideal for us because they create the illusion of width. We look great curly or wavy (these also add width). Short to medium lengths. Fullness at the sides of your face. Soft wispy bangs. You'll want to balance the look of a long and slender face. Soft wispy bangs will shorten the appearance of the length. Fullness at the sides of your face will add width to the look of your face shape. Layers work great with your face shape, as they will add softness to the straight lines in your face. Try side parts, and you may be able to wear straight back styles.

Not Good: To much hair length . . . your face will look even longer! Too much height lengthens your face. Center parts. When your hair gets past your shoulders there is a good chance it is doing you more harm than good.

Heart

Good: Chin-length or longer styles. Side-parted hair styles. Swept-forward layers around the upper face, gently wispy bangs. A chin length bob is great on your face shape! This creates a balanced look by giving fullness where you need it.

Not Good: Short, blunt-cut bangs and harsh, choppy layers. Short, full styles that emphasize upper face. Height at the crown. Severe, slicked back looks. If you are a dramatic heart shape, the short full styles with tapered necklines which emphasize the upper face will make you look top heavy. Too much height at the crown will give the appearance of a longer and narrower chin.

Square

Good: If you have a square face, you'll want to play down your strong, angular jaw. Texture, in the form of curls or choppy ends, do this brilliantly. Short-to-medium length hair, especially with wave or roundness around the face. Wispy bangs. Off-center parts, height at the crown. You want to soften the square look of your face with layers and wispy looks around the face. Height at the crown will elongate your symmetrical shape. If your hair is straight you may want to consider a body wave, as some curl or wave to the hair will achieve a nice balance to the straight features of your face shape.

Not Good: Long straight styles that accentuate square jawbone. "Linear" straight bangs or center parts. A straight bob ending at the jaw line is the wrong thing to do for your face shape. One-length bobs (especially chin-length) and blunt-cut bangs. These will make your face look even more square.

Diamond

Good: Your face shape is balanced and dramatic. Try a variety of styles. Almost everything works with your face (as long as you are a true diamond). You can wear shorter styles, however if you are a dramatic diamond shape you need to leave weight in the back nape area like a heart shaped face. This will achieve more balance between your dramatic cheekbones and more delicate chin line.

Not Good: You can do just about everything, but try not too wear to much hair on your face, thereby hiding your great features.

Most Common Fashion Mistakes Part II

Here's now the second part of my Most Common Fashion Mistakes. In the part I, i discuss about colors, shoes and make-up mistakes, now i will discuss accessories, undergarments and hairstyle common mistakes.

1. Accessories

Wearing accessories is important most especially if you are wearing something simple because the embellishments actually accent your outfit.

A. Too Many Accessories
A common mistake that many people commit though is wearing too much of them. Keep accessories to a minimum. Button or hoop earrings are acceptable for a daytime look. For an evening, make one piece, e.g. chandelier earrings or embellished purse, a key element and keep the rest of accessories neutral.

B. Using the wrong accessories.
Finish off with accessories that match your style and don’t over do it. For example with necklaces choose the correct length. Short chains and chokers tend to make your neck appear larger. If you are going out in evening wear make sure your handbag is sleek, small and coordinated, a big slouchy bag will totally ruin the look.

2. Undergarments

Having a lot of various cheap odd stuff in your closet won’t make you a fashionista. Selecting the wrong undergarments is also fashion mistake. Choose the right underwear.

A. Choosing the wrong undergarments.

Celebrities get stuffed and tucked into heavy-duty body trimmers, push-up bras, even sticky tape to look good in designer dresses for the red carpet. Just think what the right bra or support-top pantyhose could do for us mere mortals. In addition to gravity-defying bras and body slimmers that eliminate lumps and bumps, there are other tricks of the trade.

B. Revealing plain white or black bra straps and thongs

Some underwear just looks better inside. No matter how expensive your plain white sports bra is, keep it concealed. Same applies to transparency level of your clothes: wear white or bra with white shirts and black/colored bras with black ones, and not vice versa.

C. Size
Buy the correct size in your undergarments. The right bra, panties and pantyhose make a big difference in how your body looks under your clothes. Stores such as Victoria's Secret can measure you to find the correct size of bra you need. Wear the right size to reduces lines, bulges and sagging.

3. Hairstyle

Don't color your entire hair again and again. At the salon, the stylist has likely lightly retouched the roots when they have grown through and then refreshed the ends. By doing the entire hair repeatedly the color can be uneven and the ends are over-porous. Then the ends will become dried out, making them harder to style and easier to split. Try to apply the color only to the new growth of roots, spread the color through the rest of the hair just briefly (only a few minutes), then shampoo out.

A. Hair Styling products
Use the right styling product for your hair-type. If you have fine hair and you are trying to avoid the flat look, then why do you apply heavy gel which only serve to had weight? Gel is best used thinly at the roots to lift the hair, then comb it outward to reduce frizzy hair and to give you a wet look. Always hold the can of hairspray at least a foot from your head and use momentary spritzes to once more "encourage" results, rather than to drench and cause build-ups. If the product does not seem to be working, maybe your chosen style isn't suitable for you.

B. Wrong Hair Style For Your Face Shape
1. Oval face: You could wear you hair from short to long, which ever suits your life-style.
2. Round face: A short hairstyle swept back from the face will give you more height and fullness.
3. Rectangular/oblong face: With this shaped face, it is recommended to avoid long hair.
4. Square face: Short and medium length hairstyles are best suited keeping away from long hair.
5. Heart shaped face: Stay away from short hair.
6. Triangular face: This shape suits hair worn either short or tied at the nape.
7. Diamond face: If you have this shaped face, you're one of the lucky ones that can wear any length of hair and look fabulous.

Most Common Fashion Mistakes Part I

I know we all want the same thing, to look great! Right? Nothing can spoil your look more than a conspicuous fashion faux pas. Unfortunately, there are some fashion errors that we might not be aware of, but that we might practice. So for the benefit of all the readers out there, i will points out the most common fashion mistakes and how not only for woman, but also for men and how to avoid them.

1. The Color Issue
A. Wearing the wrong colors
All skin tones among us are not created equal. To look your best, choose wardrobe colors that complement your skin. Wearing the wrong colors will make your skin appear sallow and lines and wrinkles will be more evident. The lime green or hot pink that you saw on the runways may look fabulous on the models, but horrible on you. Experiment with different colors and stick with the palettes that look best on you. Don't waste your money on clothes that make you look pale, sallow, jaundiced, or washed out.
B. Wearing red and green at the same time.
Honestly, you will look like a Christmas tree. Red and green are two of the colors that you absolutely must avoid wearing together. These colors completely clash, so just stay clear. Also, it’s best to stay away from green and red makeup. If you decide to go for a green eyeshadow, don’t put on a bright red lipstick. Instead, opt for a clear gloss or a nude color.
C. Wearing too many Colors.
A common fashion mistake is using too many colors. As a general rule wear up to three colors only, for a easy on the eye coordinated look.

2. The Shoes
A. Dirty shoes.
It would be bad enough if you had shoes that were out of style, or didn’t match with your outfit, but if you have dirty shoes, you’re making a big fashion faux pas. Make sure to keep your shoes in style, according to your outfit, and most importantly, clean!
B. Bulky shoes with feminine dress.
A floral, feminine dress should never be paired with bulky shoes such as thick platforms. This kind of dress deserves a pair of soft, delicate shoes. Anything with a small heel, and even wedges and espadrilles.
C. Messy Shoes
Take care of your shoes, for they complete your look. Also ensure that your shoes complement your outfit.
D. Rundown shoes
You look great...from the ankles up. If your shoes have seen better days, find a good shoe repair shop and put them in for some TLC. Polish them regularly. Use a felt tip marker on scuffs, and put a piece of soft carpet under your feet when you drive. And most importantly, invest in a good pair if you're going to wear them every day. Don't buy them at the Five and Dime and then wonder why they don't last.
E. Clothing & Shoes Should Match.
Keep your clothing and shoes in the same color unless using black which goes with anything. Don't ever make the mistake of mismatching light and dark colors i.e. dark clothes and light shoes and vice versa.

3. Make-Up
A. Too much makeup
Too much makeup creates a harsh look and makes lines appear deeper. Keep your daytime makeup light and evening makeup a little darker. If you are unsure of makeup application techniques, see a professional. Many popular cosmetic counters at your local department store will provide a free makeup session.
B. Inappropriate makeup
Light for day, heavier for evening, sheer for sports or other strenuous pursuits. You wear different clothes for different activities in you life; your makeup should change as well. And if you're still doing Cleopatra eyes, it's time to turn the page and see what's happening THIS century in makeup styles.

These fashion mistakes tend to come from people not accepting their body type and wearing the latest fashion because its popular. To look your best, always be true to yourself and you will present a stylish confident look that will create the right impression for all occasions.
So here sums up the Part I of my Most Common Fashion Mistakes. Better Watch out for more of this later on my posts.

Tight jeans - If you have the curves, go for it! Those with slender legs should try it. It makes you look slim and sexy.

Denim ruleshttp://www.essentialapparel.com
1. Consider jeans the way you would a pair of work trousers — they are alterable. Custom jeans are becoming more and more popular.

2. They are a great blank canvas. You can try out trends by paring(?) them with jeans rather than trying to do a whole trend “look.”

3. If you find a great-fitting pair, always buy two: one to wear with flats and one to wear with heels.

4. Jeans can work on all women, no matter what age, size, etc. — but not all styles work for all women. Wear a style because it's flattering, not just because it's trendy.

Here are some tips on choosing the right pair of jeans:

1. Know your size before shopping for a pair of jeans as it can be annoying trying to find the right size.

2. Try on a lot of pairs! Select many different styles, and bring them into the dressing room at the same time, so that you can compare. Choose a style that is right for your body type.

3. When you try them on, see if they are easy to get on. Also check if they are too loose or too tight.

4. Walk around and see if they are easy to walk in?

5. Try bending down and see if they go too low and if they are easy to bend down in?

6. Check the price. Good jeans normally come at a price. However, consider how much you are willing to spend and spend within your budget.

Tips and Rules On Wearing Socks

http://www.global-b2b-network.com
Ever wondered why we really find the need to wear socks? After all, they're not exactly the most visible item of clothing to adorn our person. Well, to begin with, socks are designed to:

* ease chafing between the foot and footwear,
* keep the feet warm
* absorb moisture
* provide comfort
* absorb perspiration
* helps prevent athlete's foot
* fashion item

Beyond all this benefits, we must also consider wearing the right socks. Here are some tips and rules on choosing or wearing the best socks that fits for you.

1. Materials matters
Socks are available in a variety of materials these days including natural cotton, synthetic wool blends, wool, polyester and blends of two or more of these materials. Choose a material that suits your personal tastes. Some people are allergic to certain materials and if you find that you experience itching or irritation when using men’s socks of a particular material, you may need to select another in keeping with your body’s requirements.

2. White socks are only for sportshttp://www.dkimages.com
Probably one of the most violated rules of fashion -- wearing white socks outside of sporting activities -- is all too common. If you’re going to the gym, white socks are fine. They’re also fine, and actually even look better than black socks, if you’re playing sports outdoors or going for a run. Apart from activities where you’re going to generate a lot of sweat, however, white socks are a big no-no. Even with jeans you should wear black socks, so section off your sock drawer and keep your white socks close to your workout clothes and well away from your dress-up wardrobe.

3. Dress shoes require dress socks
If you’re going to wear dress shoes, you can’t wear athletic socks -- no matter what their color. For example, it’s simply not enough that your socks be black. The reason for this rule is the following: Athletic socks are often bulkier than dress socks since they’re usually made of heavier cotton or other materials, so they tend to bunch out over dress shoes. Plus, athletic socks are frequently ribbed and the contrast of cheap, ribbed socks against smooth, high-quality dress shoes looks odd. Instead, wear dress socks with dress shoes. They’ll be easier to slip in to your shoes and the finer, thinner material will mean that any attention focused on your foot area will remain centered on your swish shoes instead of your socks.

4. Know your climate
Light, natural fiber socks are the best option if you reside in a warm and temperate climate. Try and go for materials that absorb sweat and that allow your feet to breathe like a blend of wool and cotton. If residing in a cool climate, choose materials like wool that are known for their insulation abilities. You can also opt for some of the other synthetic fibers like polyester.

5. Choose the right type
Among the many types of socks available today are ‘wicking’ socks. These are woven from a synthetic material that draws sweat away from your skin, providing greater comfort and less irritation. Another type is the ‘breathing’ sock, which is usually made from a natural material that allows air to pass through the material keeping your feet cooler. You can also find "Diabetic Socks" for people with circulation problems. These socks offer thicker cushioning for the feet and do not hold your calf too tightly.

6. Thickness must be appropriate
The thickness of the socks is another major factor to keep in mind. Thin and natural fiber socks are recommended for warm climates while thicker socks made form synthetic fibers work best in cooler conditions. Experiment with different materials and thickness to arrive at your own personal preferences. Thicker socks also offer better cushioning to your feet.

7. Match your socks with your pants, not your shoes
When wearing dress pants or casual pants, apart from jeans, the color of your socks should be dictated by the color of your pants and not by the shade of your shoes. Black pants should http://media.canada.comobviously go with black socks, and brown pants with brown socks. The same goes for blue and gray pants. Choose your socks carefully for pants in other hues. Try out a few pairs of socks if you must in order to determine which socks match best with your pants. If you’re in doubt, a darker color usually works better. The reason it’s important to match socks with your pants is that when you have to take your shoes off or you sit down and your socks are exposed, socks that coordinate with your pants make your outfit appear more fluid. On the other hand, socks that don’t match your pants will break up an otherwise awesome ensemble.

8. Don’t roll or fold socks
Aside from the fact that you’ll appear as though you’re stuck in the worst part of the '80s, rolling your socks down around your ankles looks downright sloppy. Folding your socks looks slightly neater than rolling them, but it’s still strange because it makes your ankles appear bulky, especially when you wear tapered pants. As well, if you roll or fold your socks and then wear dress pants, your exposed, hairy legs will often be visible when you sit down, a look that’s unseemly for business or the office and definitely won’t win you any points with the ladies. Just wear your socks pulled straight up instead, since doing so will create a lean, coherent silhouette with even the most narrow leg pants.

9. Replenish socks often
Buy new socks at least once every six months to a year. You probably don’t need to buy an entire new collection of socks, but you should buy at least three new pairs. Socks go through a lot of wear and tear, and since they’re often not made from the best-quality cotton, they easily get holes. In addition, socks that are worn out, have holes or are seriously faded can devastate outfits that otherwise suggest you have a fabulous sense of style.
